Art Therapy

A creative and accessible pathway to emotional expression and healing.

Art therapy offers children and youth a non-verbal, supportive space to explore emotions, process experiences, and build self-awareness. At The Communication Clinic, art therapy sessions are led by a certified art therapist and are individualized to match the child’s communication style, developmental level, and personal interests.

No artistic skill is needed — the focus is on the process, not the product.

What Happens in a Session?

What Happens in a Session?

Sessions may include drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, or other creative mediums. The therapist gently guides the process and may invite the child to explore ideas or themes through their artwork.

Sessions are:

  • Child-led and developmentally appropriate
  • Emotionally supportive and reflective
  • Adapted to the child’s interests and regulation needs
  • Designed to promote insight, coping, and self-expression
